17th June Meeting with President Ramotar on Sawariwau's land rights.

After waiting nearly 18 months for the Minister of Amerindian Affairs to fulfil her undertaking to demarcate Sawariwau's land we decided to ask President Donald to intervene. Toshao Gregory Thomas, Deputy Toshao Tony Andrew and Melinda Janki put forward the case for Sawariwau's right to have their land demarcated. The President undertook to look into the matter personally and Sawariwau has since been informed that their land will be demarcated. The Minister of Amerindian Affairs was present at the meeting.
